Las Vegas, October 2004

The following pages are a small diary from a brief visit to Las Vegas in October 2004.  It was my very first visit.  I and two other girlfriends came to extend the celebration of our dear friend Kristina's 40th birthday. This was going to be a 2:nd surprise party, Kristina had no clue we were going to be a foursome, but  first there were time for some  sightseeing.

For you who don't know; the Strip is the long famous street where most of the entertainment is located. And if you haven't been there for a long time, it has probably changed a lot in the past 20 years. I like to assume that Las Vegas is much more "family-friendly" today than it used to be here. There are a lot of  things to do for children.

Tuesday:
Arriving in the afternoon  I checked in at the Sahara, a nice hotel with the older Las Vegas' charm still intact. And the view from my room was interesting. It isn't located right in center the the Strip, but there are no complications going up and down the long street to other facilities, and the Stratosphere and Circus Circus were right across from the hotel. Public transportations, busses comes and goes several times in an hour and a Mono-rail  works swiftly to take visitors up and down the Strip in no time.

In the distance there are mountains and more green tree-tops than I had imagined I would see here in the desert.  The rest of the afternoon, I spend  most of the time exploring the hotel's surroundings, had dinner and then went to bed early.
